In this position, you will establish a risk-based annual safety audit plan and develop, plan and execute risk-based safety audits and consults to assess company compliance with laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.  You will work in partnership with operations and the Corporate Safety team.

Typical responsibilities include

  • Performs the planning and fieldwork of basic to complex audits and consultations through gathering and analyzing information, performing more complex research, and efficiently and effectively documenting work in support of reporting.
  • Writes clear, concise and progressive basic to complex audit and consultation reports, making risk reduction and/or process improvement recommendations; participates in client updates on risk mitigation activities and reporting. Communicates conclusions to clients.
  • Gathers and analyzes information, utilizing key client contacts, for assessing companywide risks in development of the annual safety audit plan and ongoing reporting to company leadership and the Audit Committee.
  • Performs a variety of individual and department administrative tasks and implements process improvement initiatives.

Bring the following skills and experience to our team

  • Operational, safety and/or other subspecialty auditing and consulting practices.
  • Knowledge of programs and systems (Microsoft Office suite) used in department activities.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Sciences, Industrial Health and Safety, Business, Engineering, or other related field or equivalent experience. At the senior level, the successful candidate will have at least five years of applicable experience in business, internal auditing or related functions is required. At the principal level, typically eight or more years of applicable experience is required. Professional licenses/certifications preferred and may be required within one year of obtaining position ( CIA, CSP, CPSA, CPEA, etc.).
