IN-PERSON: ASSP CWC December 2022 Membership Meeting

  • December Membership Meeting 2022
    December 8, 2022
    11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Topic: Let’s talk about workplace mental well-being!

One in five employees at the workplace experience mental health conditions. The stigma and lack of awareness of mental health and well-being at work persist as barriers. As we work towards mental health awareness for all, we review tools to support someone with a mental health condition or in crisis.

This presentation will cover the following:

  • Understanding mental well-being in the workplace
  • Provide tools to support someone with a mental health condition or in crisis
  • Practicing hard conversations
  • How EAP can be a mental health resource in the workplace
  • Offering resources for support

Speaker: Courtney Gilmore

Courtney Gilmore is the Health and Well-being Program Coordinator for the City of Portland, with over 15 years of experience in health education, behavior change, mental well-being, and coordinating employee assistance programs (EAP). Courtney holds a BS in Exercise Science from George Mason University. In addition, she is a certified WellCoaches Health Coach, Worksite Wellness Specialist, Mental Health First Aid Instructor, and Yoga Teacher. Courtney is originally from Bedford, Virginia, and enjoys reading, cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her loved ones.

“The concept of total wellness recognizes that our every thought, word, and behavior affect our greater health and well-being. And we, in turn, are affected not only emotionally but also physically and spiritually.”  – Greg Anderson
