This is a technical position that manages safety issues by making policy based decisions on operational risks for the City. As a Safety Manager, you will be developing and assisting in employee training for a diverse range of jobs. You will oversee and support our Public Works department, the city-wide office environments, and our Fire and Police Departments. You will be responsible for responding to loss events and assisting in the investigation, analysis, and implementing corrective measures. You will conduct field inspections, provide consultations, and assist in enforcing County, State City and Federal health and safety rules, regulations, statutes, and codes. You will help develop and update safety policies, interact with safety committees, represent the City in OSHA matters, and work with supervisors and management to promote the City’s strong commitment to loss prevention and safety within its culture.
