Event Overview

Join the ASSP Columbia-Willamette Chapter for a full-day First Aid / CPR / AED certification training, designed to provide participants with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to respond confidently in emergency situations.

This course meets workplace safety expectations and is ideal for safety professionals, supervisors, and anyone responsible for emergency response preparedness. Participants will leave with practical, real-world skills that can make a critical difference when seconds matter.

What You’ll Learn

  • Adult CPR techniques
  • Proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • First Aid fundamentals for common workplace and everyday emergencies
  • How to recognize and respond to
    • Cardiac arrest
    • Choking incidents
    • Bleeding and shock
    • Burns, fractures, and other injuries
  • Scene assessment and emergency response best practices

Certification

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive First Aid / CPR / AED certification from HSI

Instructors

Barbara Aguon, ARM (pictured right)

A career safety professional with nearly 45 years of experience, Barbara brings deep expertise across occupational safety and health, risk management, and emergency preparedness.

She spent 30 years with the City of Portland Parks & Recreation as a Safety Manager, where she developed and implemented programs spanning training, ergonomics, incident management, and emergency response.

Barbara has been a CPR-AED-First Aid Instructor since 1990 and an Instructor Training since 1996. She is a long-time member of the Columbia-Willamette Chapter of ASPP and served as Chapter President in 2001.

Linda Spaulding (pictured left)

Linda Spaulding is the CEO if HI-NRG LLC and brings more than 40 years of experience in safety, emergency response, and workplace well-being.

Her background includes aviation safety and compliance, corporate wellness, and injury prevention programming. She is the creator of RAMP CAMP, an injury reduction training program for airline personnel.

Linda holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from Oregon State University and maintains numerous certifications, including OSHA-10 Authorized Trainer (General Industry), CPR/AED and First Aid Instructor, Personal Training, and Health Coach.

Her work focuses on helping individuals and organizations stay safe, healthy, and performing at their best.
