Topic: Are you allocating your loss prevention resources correctly?

Are you focusing your time and resources on the losses that matter most?

In this interactive session, Brian Clarke will challenge traditional approaches to loss prevention in construction—offering a fresh perspective for both contractors and owners. Attendees will explore how injury-related costs and rework can significantly impact project profitability, often in ways that aren’t immediately visible.

Participants will be introduced to practical tools and worksheets designed to quantify the true financial impact of incidents, including hidden costs and the downstream effects on profit margins. Through real-world examples and group engagement, this session will help you better understand where your current loss prevention efforts are being spent—and whether they’re aligned with the biggest risks.

The presentation will also highlight research on the financial and schedule impacts of rework in construction and provide actionable strategies to reduce these losses.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How to identify and quantify the true cost of injuries and rework
  • Where loss prevention efforts are commonly misaligned
  • The financial and schedule impacts of rework on projects
  • Practical tools to better communicate risk and cost to leadership
  • Strategies to reduce loss and improve project outcomes

Interactive Component:
Please bring a smartphone and be prepared to participate. Attendees will be asked to provide examples of a craft-related injury and a rework scenario from their experience.

Who Should Attend:
Safety professionals, project managers, supervisors, and anyone involved in construction risk management or operational decision-making.
