Topic: Safety Culture at PDX Terminal Core Expansion (TCORE)
Join ASSP Columbia Willamette and Oregon RIMS for a session highlighting the remarkable safety achievements of the TCORE project, showcasing proactive collaboration between the Port of Portland, Hoffman-Skansa JV, and subcontractors. Beginning with a brief video overview of the project’s progress as of August 2024, the presentation will explore innovative approaches such as screening subcontractors for safety effectiveness and maintaining a consistent safety-first focus led by the Port’s Capital Projects Accountable Executive. Key topics include the value of early engagement with airport operations and tenants to mitigate construction impacts, the partnership between Port Safety, SAIF consultants, and contractor safety teams, and insights into successfully navigating the Owner Controlled Insurance Program. Attendees will gain practical lessons on fostering a culture of safety through collaboration and prioritization.
