ASSP CWC March Membership Meeting 2020 – CHANGE OF TOPIC

Due to circumstances beyond our control, our scheduled speaker Jennifer Harris is unable to travel due to immediate work needs at her location due to COVID-19. Because of this, and perhaps appropriately, we have changed our topic to instead discuss what COVID-19 means for organizations and those of us working in occupational safety and health. We are sorry that we will not be able to host ASSP Region 1 Area Director, Jennifer Harris at this time, and will look for a future opportunity to hear from her.

Topic: COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Panel and Discussion: Current Response and Prudent Practices for Organizations

Speaker: Panel members include Multnomah County Health Department representative and Ed Hoefflinger, CSP, MBA, Senior Safety Management Consultant, SAIF

The COVID-19 outbreak is already impacting many of our work operations, as well as our personal lives. There is a huge amount of information available, some of it science-based and some not. Join this Columbia-Willamette Chapter ASSP meeting to discuss with other safety and health professionals about facts most pertinent at this time, useful resources, and to share ideas about prudent practices and those to keep people calm. We are in the process of pulling together a small panel, potentially including some of our own members, who have expertise that they are willing to share during this meeting. Issues we expect to discuss include travel restrictions, best practices for workplace sanitation practices, and implementation of sick and leave policies.

Because of the change of topic we will not be hosting a happy hour meet and greet for Jennifer and members this month, or in conjunction with this event. Thank you for your patience and flexibility. We hope to see you next week.
